VDW's Mtwo files are designed for safe and quick root canal preparation with the fewest necessary instruments. They allow for the removal of obstructions in the root canal using larger diameter instruments than conventional manual ISO instruments. Additionally, their taper increases progressively for efficient irrigation.
Mtwo files are available in various working lengths with an active part to choose from 16 mm or 21 mm. The advantage of using Mtwo files with a 21 mm active part is that, while preparing the root canal, obstacles in the pulp chamber are eliminated, preserving the substance.
Furthermore, Mtwo files have an S-shaped cross-section and two cutting edges that reduce radial contact with the wall, providing ample space and deep withdrawal towards the coronal third. The core of the file is designed to provide great flexibility without compromising strength.
The main features of Mtwo files are:
Specific design of each file allows for quick and safe preparation.
Reliable rotary permeability for initial preparation with .04/10 and .05/15. The increased number of spirals enhances instrument stability.
Efficient removal of dentin and selective shaping with .06/20 and .06/25. Active cutting edges and progressive cutting distance allow for efficient dentin removal and high lateral cutting capacity.
Conservative treatment with .05/30, .04/35, and .04/40. Instruments with reduced taper only expand in the apical third, avoiding unnecessary removal of dentin.
Trouble-free treatment of larger canal anatomies with .04/50 or .06/40. Smaller cross-sections in ISO sizes and larger tapers result in more flexible instruments and safer shaping.
The number of rings on the file handle indicates the taper of the instrument:
Taper .04 = 1 ring.
Taper .05 = 2 rings.
Taper .06 = 3 rings.
Taper .07 = 4 rings.
Depth markings on Mtwo files help control the working length during treatment:
21 mm working length has depth markings at 18, 19, and 20 mm.
25 mm working length has depth markings at 18, 19, 20, and 22 mm.
31 mm working length has depth markings at 22 and 24 mm.
The files are available in blister packs of 6 units.
