VDW's Reciproc files have been specially designed for root canal preparation in retreatments using the reciprocal technique.
Reciproc files alternate rotation in both directions. As the cutting direction rotation is greater than the reverse rotation, the file advances toward the apex, reducing pressure on the instrument and minimizing the risk of cyclic fatigue caused by tension.
Their S-shaped cross-section efficiently cuts due to their design and moves with light pressure to minimize stress on the dentin.
Reciproc files are designed with ISO sizes and tapers that, depending on the canal anatomy, allow for optimal apical preparation in most clinical cases with a single file.
Even highly curved and narrow canals can be prepared with the Reciproc system in a single working step. The R25 instrument is specially designed for this type of canal anatomy.
Thanks to the regressive increase in its diameter, VDW's Reciproc files are narrower at the end of the working part than most NiTi conical instruments of the same ISO size. This avoids unnecessary loss of substance in the coronal part.
